The amiibo functionality can be accessed by pressing the button next to the amiibo option of the title screen for whichever version of the game you’re playing. Tapping amiibo will give you weapons and other bonuses, and on Wii U there’s an exclusive weapon that’s tied to amiibo as well. They each have their own mechanical changes and content additions, but their amiibo functionality is more or less the same between them all. Hyrule Warriors has been released on three different platforms now – the original game on Wii U, Hyrule Warriors Legends on 3DS and now Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition on the Switch.
